Piercing Aftercare from NeilMed is a sterile isotonic saline solution, so it has the same salt content as normally found in the body and thus does not dry out the fresh piercing or otherwise irritate it. Additive- and preservative-free saline should be used as part of the aftercare of the piercing to ensure optimal healing without any burning, stinging or irritation that may be caused by other products with added substances or inappropriate salt concentrations.

The sterile packaging makes it suitable for both home use and travel, so you don't risk irritation from improperly mixed home saline solution and you avoid the risk of contaminating your new piercing with bacteria from home-mixed products.

The fine mist of this product allows you to direct the saline solution in any direction, even when holding the bottle upside down. This makes it easier to use the product without having to touch the fresh piercing with your hand and risk transferring bacteria to the puncture. You can use it directly on the puncture, or you can moisten a cotton swab or a piece of sterile gauze with it. It is not necessary to wash off the product.
